Saltfloww — Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 September 2026

Saltfloww is production management software for film and television crews. It is used by the staff of a production company — the company that licenses Saltfloww is responsible for the records kept in it, and Saltfloww holds that data on its behalf. Accounts are created by an administrator at that company; nobody signs themselves up.

What we collect

WhatWhy
Who you are — name, WhatsApp number, email if given, role, department, who you report to To sign you in, to show colleagues who is on the unit, and to decide which screens you can open.
Precise location — coordinates and accuracy when you clock in, and when you clock out where your phone supplies them To record where a shift started and ended. Captured only at the moment you tap clock in or clock out. The app never tracks you in the background and has no background location permission.
Photos you take or choose — continuity stills, recce and set photographs, costume and prop images, photographs of bills They become part of the production's own records. Nothing is uploaded until you choose it.
Your work in the app — attendance, tasks, leave, scenes, takes, production log entries, expenses, approvals, alerts This is the product: the records the production is keeping.
Session details — the device name you give when signing in, and the tokens that keep you signed in To keep you signed in and to let a session be ended.

What we do not collect

No contacts, no SMS or call logs, no microphone, no background location, no advertising identifiers. There is no advertising in Saltfloww and no third-party analytics or tracking software. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

Who else sees it

Where it is kept, and for how long

Data is stored on servers in a DigitalOcean data centre and is backed up nightly. Production records are kept for as long as the production company keeps its account, because they are that company's business records. When an account is closed we delete or return the data at the company's instruction.

Keeping it safe

Everything travels over HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are stored in the Android system's encrypted storage, not in ordinary app files. Access is controlled by role and by project assignment, and significant actions are recorded in an activity log so a change can be traced to a person.

Deleting your data

To ask for your data to be deleted, or to see what is held about you, write to contact@sehsaa.com from any address, or tell your administrator. Say which production company you work with. We answer within 30 days.

Your sign-in, your attendance records and anything you wrote are deleted. Records the production company must keep for its own accounts — a shift that has been paid, a voucher that has been settled — are kept for as long as the law requires and are then deleted with the rest. Deleting your data ends your access to the app.

Your choices

About other people's data

Production records often describe people who do not use Saltfloww — cast, vendors, contacts, and sometimes children who appear in a production. That information is entered by the production company, which decides what is collected and why. If you believe information about you is held in Saltfloww, contact the production company, or write to us and we will pass it on.

Children

Saltfloww is a workplace tool and is not directed at children. Accounts are created only for people working on a production.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
